Lyme Disease
Lyme Disease is a tick-born disease that can affect all systems of the body. It is very difficult to detect. The longer a person has untreated Lyme Disease, the harder it is to cure. Many people with Lyme also have co-infections, which make treatment even more complicated. 

Unfortunately, this disease has affected my three generations of my immediate family directly. My husband was finally diagnosed with Lyme and several co-infections after being infecting over 30 years ago. We estimate that I have been infected since I was 20 or so. (No I am not going to even think about saying how many years LOL). Both of my children were most likely infected during pregnancy. Recently, my mother-in-law was also diagnosed.

Over the last few years, I have been working diligently to get the truth out about what Lyme disease is really like: how it affects our health, our outlook on life, and how it interfere's with relationships with our family and friends. But most importantly, I try to have other people become more aware of Lyme Disease becasue there is a critical lack of information of medical information as well. Turn the Corner and Open Eye Pictures has produced an invaluable documentary, Under Our Skin, which explains this better than I ever could.
